Healthy for longer
This edition of the Symposium Series booklets captures the in-depth presentations and discussions during our symposium of 2005.
A healthy diet & lifestyle should start early in life
The 50 plus population is not a homogeneous group biologically, psychologically and sociologically. It is generally believed that ageing is associated with an inadequate functioning of repair mechanisms of the body that can be optimised through a healthy diet and lifestyle that, for a maximum benefit, should start early in life. Specific age-related health problems may require specific solutions but these should be offered to the consumer in a positive and motivating way, emphasising benefits and addressing their aspirations rather than talking about risk and disease.
